REP 5.0.5 is now available. This update is free for all current users. You can get it using the SkunkCrafts Updater or by re-downloading the full installer from the X-Plane store and reinstalling from scratch.

The Default C172 Gets REP 5.0

The highlight of this release is the promotion of the default Cessna 172 to a full REP 5.0 stable release. If you’ve been following the REP 5.0 rollout, you already know what this means — but here’s a quick recap.

REP 5.0 brings a refined piston engine model that simulates everything per cylinder. Temperatures, combustion, power output, vibrations, and wear all come from the model itself. Therefore, instruments only report real values — no scripted data, no approximations.

REP 5.0 also introduces a new electrical and alternator model, solving long-standing issues caused by X-Plane’s electrical system overrides. The PAE Bonanza A36 was the first aircraft to ship with REP 5.0. The C172 now joins it, fully stable and with all the REP 5.0 improvements included.

PA31 Navajo and Pilatus PC-6 Now Stable

This release also marks the stable release of REP 5.0 for the PA31 Navajo and the Pilatus PC-6. Along with the stability milestone, this update includes important fixes for both aircraft. The EGT model on the PA31 was incorrectly calibrated since v5.0.4, and the maximum static RPM in X-Plane 12 was lower than expected. On the PC-6, the ITT curve was incorrectly converted in X-Plane 12, causing frequent hot-starts. Both issues are now resolved.
