We just released REP 5.0.9. This update brings general improvements and, for the PAE A36 Bonanza, some nice additions plus a couple of fixes.
General Improvements
We slightly tuned the fuel system shutoff dynamic. Specifically, we improved the parameter that defines the fuel line length. Therefore, the engine now stops more realistically after you close the shutoff valve, based on the current fuel flow.
We also removed the plugin’s dependency on the external SSL, CURL, and CRYPTO libraries. This makes the plugin lighter and more reliable, especially on Linux when running with Steam.
PAE A36 Bonanza: 3D Model
We fixed several issues in the 3D model. Therefore, the external model now looks cleaner and more accurate.
PAE A36 Bonanza: Standby Vacuum Pump
We updated the standby vacuum pump. Previously, we simulated it as a mechanical pump driven by the engine, following some old Beechcraft specifications. Now, it’s electrically driven, in compliance with the correct service bulletin.
The standby system kicks in if the primary vacuum system fails, restoring air pressure to the attitude indicator and the directional gyro. You can activate it through the STBY GYRO P switch on the pilot’s subpanel. For all the details on how the system works, check the user manual. The before start checklist have been updated accordingly.
PAE A36 Bonanza: Two new liveries
We also added two new liveries for the A36 Bonanza: N436S and PH-BWG.
PAE A36 Bonanza: Fixes
We fixed the digital clock. It could report the wrong temperature.
We also fixed the magnetic compass. It reported true heading instead of magnetic heading.
How to Update
This update is free for all current REP users. To get it, use the SkunkCrafts Updater or re-download the full installation package from store.x-plane.org and reinstall from scratch.
