Bonanza A36 flying over Italy

The PAE Addons Beechcraft Bonanza A36 comes with native Reality Expansion Pack integration.

REP is included out of the box. Therefore, no separate REP purchase or installation is required.

This aircraft is the second collaboration between SimCoders and PAE Addons, after the G36 Bonanza. The workflow is mature and tightly integrated. As a result, systems simulation and aircraft modeling work together seamlessly.

Advanced engine simulation

The Bonanza A36 features a fully custom piston engine model.

REP completely replaces the default X-Plane engine. It does not modify or tune it. It removes it entirely.

The engine is simulated per cylinder. Each cylinder has its own internal state. Temperatures, combustion, power contribution, vibrations, and wear all come directly from the engine model. Therefore, engine monitors do not invent data. Instruments such as the EDM930 and EDM800 only report real internal values.

The TCM fuel injection system used by the Continental IO-550-B is fully modeled according to real-world specifications. Behavior, limits, and interactions follow the real system. Nothing is generic or approximated.

The aircraft also features a custom electrical system model. Battery, alternators, and electrical loads are fully simulated. In addition, the electrical state persists between sessions. Leaving switches on has real consequences.

This approach has made REP the reference for piston engine simulation in X-Plane for years. Everything is simulated. Nothing is faked.

Aircraft systems and realism

The aircraft models the real Beechcraft Bonanza A36 in depth.

Key features include:

  • Continental IO-550-B, 300 HP
  • Optional turbonormalized configuration
    • Dedicated turbo model
    • Full thermal simulation
    • TIT correctly simulated and displayed
  • Fully simulated emergency landing gear extension
  • Fully modeled air conditioning system
    • Real engine power loss when the compressor is engaged
    • Electrical load from the blower
    • Custom sounds for fans, compressor, and air scoop
  • Fully functional circuit breakers, each controlling its real system
  • TKS anti-ice system
    • Built using the X-Plane 12 anti-ice SDK
    • Persistent internal state
    • Fluid quantity and associated weight simulated
    • Dedicated control panel modeled after the real aircraft

Every system interacts with the others. Therefore, correct procedures matter.

Avionics and integration

The Bonanza A36 includes custom avionics developed by PAE Addons:

  • EDM930 engine monitor
  • EDM800 engine monitor
  • STEC-55 autopilot
  • Garmin GTX345 transponder

The aircraft also supports:

  • Default Garmin GNS 430 530
  • Real Sim Gear Garmin G500 and G5
  • RealityXP Garmin GNS 650 / 750
  • TDS Garmin GTN 650 / 750 NXi

All avionics integrate deeply with REP systems. As a result, displayed data always reflects the real internal state of the aircraft.

Visuals and modeling by PAE

Highly detailed 3D model

PAE Addons created the entire 3D model and textures for the Bonanza A36.

The aircraft features a highly detailed cockpit and exterior. Custom instruments are modeled after the real units and integrate directly with REP systems. Therefore, visuals and simulation remain consistent in every situation.

What REP adds

Custom Mass and Balance tool and Checklists

As with all REP-powered aircraft, the Bonanza A36 includes:

  • Custom flight model
  • Fully custom sound engine
  • Persistent wear and maintenance
  • Interactive walkaround and external inspections
  • Persistent aircraft state between sessions
  • Economy system:
    • Standalone
    • X-CPL-Pilot
    • FSEconomy

Systems are simulated, not approximated.

Documentation and usability

The aircraft includes:

  • REP-style checklists
  • Performance tables
  • A complete user manual

Documentation supports both normal and abnormal operations. Therefore, the aircraft is usable and understandable from the first flight.

Automatic updates are supported via the SkunkCrafts Updater.

Updates and support

All future REP updates are free for existing users.

You can update the aircraft using the SkunkCrafts Updater. Alternatively, you can re-download the full installation package from the X-Plane.org Store and reinstall it from scratch.
